

She was born in Liberec, where she also began her journey towards acting. She studied acting at DAMU in Prague, specialising in alternative and puppet theatre. After completing her studies, she joined the ensemble of the Naive Theatre in Liberec in 2012, where she performed in numerous productions and where she still appears as a regular guest. In Liberec, she also worked with Divadlo F. X. Kalba, contributing to the creation of original comedies that have gained cult status. Since 2018, she has been a member of the ensemble of Divadlo pod Palmovkou, where she is one of the distinctive faces of the current repertoire.
At Palmovka, she has portrayed, for example, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Kecalová in The Bartered Bride, and characters in the productions The 294 Brave, Frantík Without Arms, The Žítková Goddesses and Encyclopedia of Action Film. She also achieved success in the original production The Film Critic’s Wife, for which she was nominated for the Theatre News Award. Early in her career, she attracted attention at the Mateřinka 2015 festival, where she and her colleagues received an honourable mention for collective acting performance in the fairy tale The Little Lamb That Fell from the Sky. For the role of Ella in the production Franz and the Jackdaw at Divadlo Na zábradlí, she was longlisted for the 2024 Thalia Award in the category of puppet theatre.
Barbora Kubátová is an actress with a great sense of humour, the ability to move between comedy and poignancy, and a strong musical sensibility, which she often brings to the stage. In addition to drama, she also works in puppetry and occasionally appears in musical projects. She comes from an artistic family; her sister Anežka is also an actress and puppeteer.
