

Pavla Gajdošíková grew up in Otrokovice and Bělov. She studied acting at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava under the guidance of director Václav Klemens. While still a student, she joined the Petr Bezruč Theatre, where she remained a member for ten seasons. There she portrayed a number of major roles, including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Sonya in Uncle Vanya, Karoline in Casimir and Caroline, Lucie in The Cowards, Elizabeth in Richard III, Sheeni in Youth in Revolt and Margarita in The Master and Margarita. Her most prominent role was Maryša, for which she received the Theatre Critics’ Award and the Moravian-Silesian Jantar Cultural Award, and was also nominated for the Thalia Award. She has appeared as a guest at the Zlín Municipal Theatre, the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, the Absinthe Club Les in Ostrava and the Summer Shakespeare Festival, where she appeared as Ophelia in Hamlet.
Since August 2020, she has been a member of the ensemble of Divadlo pod Palmovkou. In recent seasons, she has portrayed, among others, Dora Idesová in The Žítková Goddesses, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mařenka in The Bartered Bride, Jill in Cooking with Elvis, Marie Svobodová in Encyclopedia of Action Film and characters in the original production Frantík Without Arms.
She shone on the big screen in the leading role of the drama Mistakes (2021), directed by Jan Prušinovský. For the role of Ema, she received both the Czech Lion and the Czech Film Critics’ Award. She has also appeared in the films Hrana zlomu and DonT Stop, as well as in the miniseries Burning Bush, and in a number of television series, including Cases of the 1st Department, The Dejvice Theatre Disaster, Scene of the Crime Ostrava and Seven Steps to Power.
In addition to acting, she has long been involved in music. Since childhood, she has played the cimbalom and guitar. Today, she writes her own songs and sings in the band Tamala.
